The SMART Tool
The SMART tool is an application that uses predefined and/or your own proprietary
skills dictionaries that align to an organization`s supporting roles. Mappings
then exist from each skill to related education solutions at a modular level.
User assessments performed against these skills, provides an organization with
an analysis on skill gaps and specific education requirements. This in turn
provides a tool to utilize for assessing an organization’s requirements that
can then be mapped to specific solutions in helping a company move more
effectively within new and existing platforms.
Core
Components
The SMART tool itself is broken down into two primary components. The first
component is an SQL Database structure housing all the tables, views, and
relationships in support of the system. This Database structure is hosted and
supported under Microsoft SQL 2005.
The second component is the graphical front-end system. The front-end system is
Visual Studio .NET based to allow for easy access for end-user assessments at their site
and for administrative reporting.
Skill
Dictionaries
The SMART tool is populated with the necessary skills and roles mapping to the
